Before the creation of man a war took place. This battle was in heaven not on earth. Michael, God’s archangel and the army of God fought against Lucifer. (Now Satan) God being the ultimate warrior cast Lucifer from heaven along with his fallen angels. God is the Lord of Host and everyone, everything is under His authority.
The Lord of Host is a military term which means “God of the Battles.” This military term is most appropriate for our God. He is a fighter. He is a warrior. A warrior who wins. And actually, if you are a child of God you are also a warrior in God’s army. The beautiful thing about this battle is that it is already won. We are victors because of God and the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ. We operate through the success of Jesus Christ. This is very good news. When Satan inches his way into our life by spiritual warfare, we have a chief warrior. God, Jehovah-Tseboath “The Lord of Hosts.”
We anchor ourselves in the Lord of Host. We depend on Him to fight with us in battle. He is the Lord of the battles and He’s the Lord of Victories. James 4:7 reads, “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil , and he will flee from you.”
There is also another very important scripture in the Old Testament in which I find great comfort. Isaiah 31:5, ” As birds flying, so will the Lord of Hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.”
God not only defends, He delivers, He not only delivers but He preserves! Praise the Lord of Hosts! My battles are not mine they are His. There is hope, deliverance and safety in Jehovah-Tsebaoth. Thank you God for being my Chief Warrior.

Thanks Trish, I love this characteristic of God. He’s not some wimp who allows us to be overcome by spiritual oppression. He’s a valiant warrior, making war in the heavenlies and keeping spiritual forces at bay.
Just last night I woke up in the middle of the night feeling fearful. I knew it was a spiritual attack (the enemy’s signature mark is always fear and intimidation) and immediately began to pray & intercede, pleading the blood of Jesus over my family and me. Soon thereafter, Jehovah-Tsebaoth showed himself the valiant warrior, and peace replaced fear. He truly is “God of the Battles” – whether they be small or large. He reigns as Jehovah Tsebaoth!

I love learning about GOD & who HE is as GOD our Jehovah Tseboath. Knowing that my battles are won through Jehovah Tsebaoth makes my fights in life a whole lot easier. I use to be a physical fighter at the drop of a cotton ball until I asked GOD to give me another way of fighting thats when the LORd took all my physical fights away and gave me spiritual ones and once I started fighting spiritually I never had to face my enemies in the physical some of them became my friends. As the scripture says; When a mans ways please the Lord HE will make our enemies be our friend. Thank you for the encouraging insight GOD bless you.
According to the Bible, sweet and bitter waters cannot flow from a single fountain (James 3:11). And Jesus declares that a tree is known by its fruit, so that a good tree produces good fruit, and the bad tree produces bad fruit (Matt. 7:16-19). Jesus declares also that God is good and therefore God cannot do evil, only what is good (Matt. 19:16-17).
Jesus said: “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him” (Matt. 11:27). This text reveals that the only one under the heavens that can reveal God the Father to men is Jesus. It also reveals that God, the Father, has never revealed himself to men. John confirms this truth, saying: “No one has seen God at any time. The one and only Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him” (John 1:18). The apostle to the gentiles and the genius of Christianity, who received the revelations about the hidden secrets from Jesus, that is to say, the ministry of grace, the ministry of faith, the ministry of the Gospel, the ministry of marriage, the ministry of piety, etc., attests what John declared in 1 Tim. 6:16.
Now, Jehovah revealed himself as god, saying: “There is no other God besides me” (Is. 45:21). “Is there a God besides me?” (Is. 44:8). “Besides me there is no God” (Is. 44:6; 45:5). “I am God” (Is. 45:22). “[I am] God, and there is none like me” (Is. 46:9). If Jehovah does only what is good, that is proof that he is God. If Jehovah does both good and evil, he is a strange fountain; and if he produces both bad and good fruits, he is not in accordance with biblical truths. Let us look at this:
1. “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive” (1 Cor. 15:22). One man has sinned, and Jehovah ascribed death to all men, women, and children until today. And death comes to us mixed with pain and suffering. It comes through hunger, sword, pestilence, and malignant plagues. Death is an evil, and everyone was condemned by the sin of Adam, according to Scriptures. And the text reveals also that all will be vivified in Christ, whom the Father has sent. Therefore, Jehovah has done only what is evil, condemning men to extinction; and the Father has done only what is good, sending his Son. Death, which was established by Jehovah, was the extinction, because the Scriptures say the following: “For you are dust, and to dust you shall return” (Gen. 3:19). “As the cloud is consumed and vanishes away, so he who goes down to Sheol shall come up no more” (Job 7:9). “But man dies, and is laid low. Yes, man gives up the spirit, and where is he? As the waters fail from the sea, and the river wastes and dries up, so man lies down and doesn’t rise. Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep” (Job 14:10-12). Job declared: “For when a few years are come, I shall go the way of no return” (Job 16:22). “For that which happens to the sons of men happens to animals. Even one thing happens to them. As the one dies, so the other dies. Yes, they have all one breath; and man has no advantage over the animals: for all is vanity. All go to one place. All are from the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knows the spirit of man, whether it goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, whether it goes downward to the earth? Therefore I saw that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his works; for that is his portion: for who can bring him to see what will be after him?” (Eccl. 3:19-22). There it is man, condemned to extinction just like any animal. And Solomon, totally ignorant about Jesus Christ, said: “Who can bring him to see what will be after him?” This one is Jesus, who came down from heaven and abolished death, and brought light to life, and incorruption to the Gospel (2 Tim. 1:9-10). Jesus cancelled on the cross, by his death, the prediction of Jehovah to destroy men. 2. Jehovah does only evil because he uses evil to force men to obey his law. If evil is the supreme resource of Jehovah to correct evil, he does only evil and that is what he does better. Jehovah declared: “But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments; and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant; I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and you will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it. I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you. If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins” (Lev. 26:14-18). And Jehovah, in this same chapter, continues, compounding seven over seven, many times. It did not occur to him, with a heart burning with fury and hatred, to deal with love. The truth is that the evil dealt by Jehovah had a contrary effect. Jehovah declared in the days of the prophet Jeremiah, who prophesied the end of the kingdom of Judah and the kingdom of Israel, saying: “Then you shall tell them, Because your fathers have forsaken me, says Jehovah, and have walked after other gods, and have served them, and have worshiped them, and have forsaken me, and have not kept my law; and you have done evil more than your fathers; for, behold, you walk every one after the stubbornness of his evil heart, so that you don’t listen to me: therefore will I cast you forth out of this land into the land that you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there you shall serve other gods day and night; for I will show you no favor” (Jer. 16:11-13). Evil destroys; evil sets rebellion in motion; evil takes from men the seed of good; evil, sown, is a garden of poisonous thorns. Whoever reacts to evil with evil is overcome by evil; and whoever uses evil to fix evil is teaching the practice of evil. This was what Jehovah did. In the New Testament, Paul, full of the Holy Spirit, says: “Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good” (Rom. 12:9). “Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse” (Rom. 12:9). “Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men” (Rom. 12:17). “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head. Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good” (Rom. 12:20-21). 3. Jehovah practices only evil because he is the god of war, that is to say, “Jehovah Tsebaoth,” in the Hebrew. Every war is malignant, because it is destructive. There is no love, peace, or pity in war, only death and destruction. And why? Because one people wants to take a hold of the properties of the other people, or destroy them. The fact that Jehovah calls himself Jehovah Tsebaoth proves that there is no love in him. The very Jehovah declares what happens in war. Let us read: “Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, and the earth will be shaken out of its place in the wrath of Jehovah of Armies, and in the day of his fierce anger” (Is. 13:13). “Everyone who is found will be thrust through. Everyone who is captured will fall by the sword. Their infants also will be dashed in pieces before their eyes. Their houses will be ransacked, and their wives raped. Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, who will not value silver, and as for gold, they will not delight in it. Their bows will dash the young men in pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb. Their eyes will not spare children” (Is. 13:15-18). And to think that Jehovah is the author of these monstrosities.
When we read that Jesus, filled with love, said: “Allow the little children to come to me! Don’t forbid them, for the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Mark 10:14)! Jehovah destroyed the heirs and the owners of the kingdom of heaven. What hatred!
Thanks to God that the Father, full of love and mercy, has sent Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, who cancelled the judgments of Jehovah Tsebaoth on the cross, who is not only going to deliver and save the condemned of Jehovah (Gal. 4:4-5), but is going to snatch innocent little children from death to brighten the kingdom of god the Father with their innocence, purity, their songs, and their joy. AMEN.
