My Elohim

It’s beautiful to reflect on God as the “Creator of All”. Personally, the most beautiful thing is to think about what that really means to me.  That means He is my creator, I am His canvas.  I wasn’t an accident, and nothing about me or my life has been by accident, no matter how I might perceive it.  Just thinking about how He created my inmost being, and knit me together in my mother’s womb, and how even today my creator, the creator of the Universe, knows the very number of hairs on my head (and the number of grey hairs on my head too, mind you) knows everything about me, and LOVES ME ANYWAY is so overwhelming to me.  The really encouraging part is that just as all of His creations, He created me, and you as beautiful reflections of Himself.  As women we have a very difficult time embracing ourselves, our imperfections and flaws, particularly those that are part of our body.  It’s convicting to remember that He created us!  We are questioning the very Art of God when we think less of ourselves!  Wow.

I encourage you today to take the time to reflect on the fact that you, YES YOU, are God’s Art.  You are God’s creation.  Allow him to be your mirror instead of the glass on the wall.

  1. I love this, Krystee. Thank you. I rarely feel like a work of art, and need to start looking through my creator’s eyes a little more.

  2. I remember when my 1st daughter was a baby I began to see physical charactieristics on her that came from me. On me, I thought they were ugly, but on her they were stunning. God showed me how to Him we are his beautiful creation. He loves us and every other beautiful human creation on the planet. We cannot fathom the love our Creator has for us and for us to think ANYTHING that He created is less than stunning, we are not looking through the Father’s eyes. Ladies, You are Stunning.

  3. Alright, I will admit this one is hard for me. I’m very critical of myself. When I’m critical of myself I’m really insulting my Creator… He made me this way. I love Psalm 139! The entire chapter… He made me with such love and such detail. When I forget Him as Elohim, I read this passage and I find peace in knowing He doesn’t make mistakes! ;-)

  4. I have a close friend who recently adopted a 5 year old little girl from Wuhan, China. She is deaf. She is beautiful and healthy in every other way but her name sat on a special needs list for months before she was finally matched with her family. Upon arriving back in the States, my friend’s father began badgering her as to when they were going to “have Maddie fixed”. (his words). Heather (the mom) finally told him that Maddie isn’t broken! God made her perfect and she is happy and well adjusted. She communicates just fine with every one she meets…hearing and non hearing. Now- they ARE praying about certain procedures and having Maddie evaluated for them, but in the mean time… Maddie is a perfect creation in Christ Jesus.

We also have had many caring and curious people ask us why we adopted a special needs child–a child we really knew very little about before going to China to get her…Ruby has turned out to have very few “issues” but we stepped out on faith and have been so rewarded by God with this precious little butterbean and we also know she is perfect for us.

  5. I needed to hear that after a depressing weekend on the beach! Sometimes I wish sweat pants and t-shirts were the norm for beach attire! I am SOOOO critical of myself, and I really do need to thank God for how perfect he made me.

  6. Amen, Kristian!

  7. Awesome truth Krystee. I can relate to Kristian, I just got back from the beach and it can be so hard not to compare myself to others. (Wish I’d read this post before I left!! Ha!) Anyway, love the reminder that I am Elohim’s work of ART.
